3 Allergy-Alternative-Foods

Food allergies in kids are extremely important to be aware of. The risk of an allergy attack can make it tricky for parents to know just what to feed them. Here are a few tasty alternatives to allergy-prone foods like peanuts and milk.

1. Pea-not Butter

Peanut allergies are among the worst. In fact, many schools are now nut-free to ensure kids aren’t being exposed to allergy-triggers. Luckily, there are some alternatives to peanut butter. Try Biscoff European Cookie Spread as a dipper for apples or a spread on a sandwich! You can also find “peanut-less peanut butter,” like WOWBUTTER, that is approved for kids with peanut allergies.

2. Gluten-free

Some kids just can’t handle gluten. Luckily, over the past few years, there have been plenty of tasty new gluten-free products for adults and kids alike! From cookies and granola bars to crackers and pretzels, there is a gluten-free option for just about anything nowadays. Try your local health food store, or the naturals section at your grocery store. Another great option is popcorn. Popcorn is naturally gluten-free, and can be purchased in great flavors kids will love.

3. Milk Alternatives

The second-most common allergy in kids is milk. Unfortunately, lots of yummy snacks like cheese and yogurt contain milk and dairy. Fear not! You can give your kids tasty treats that will make them forget they can’t eat dairy. Try frozen fruit cups or applesauce as an alternative to ice cream or yogurt. If they have trouble with cheese, try lactose-free cheese, or use sweet potato sauce as an alternative to cheese sauce.

With a little creative thinking and the right ingredients, you can craft some delicious snacks and lunch items for kids with allergies. Make an activity out of it and have them help you cook up some tasty treats the whole family will enjoy!
